Yeah, smooth move NPR, if you knew shit about Queen. They were a unit, a democracy as well as a band. There were fights. There were egos. But in the end, Brian, Roger, Jon and Freddie knew they worked better together unlike other artists from their era. They were Queen, not Freddie Mercury and Queen!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To add more insult to injury, the NPR talking head said Queen&#8217;s first album &#8220;dropped&#8221; on this day 50 years ago. <em>Dropped<\/em> is a <strong>moron word<\/strong> created from the moron dialect known as <strong>BizSpeak<\/strong>, a cousin of <strong>NewSpeak<\/strong>. Music doesn&#8217;t <em>drop<\/em>, it&#8217;s not rain or manna. In 1973, Queen\u00a0<em>debuted<\/em> on the radio! Their album was <em>released<\/em> and <em>stocked<\/em> at record stores. Even today, music still doesn&#8217;t\u00a0<em>drop<\/em> you dipshits. It is distributed physically and electronically. On the latter, an album appears or, I&#8217;m willing to go with, it&#8217;s <em>posted<\/em> since this usage is derived from the days of the Internet&#8217;s pre-cursor of electronic bulletin boards. Technically, the record companies or distributors more accurately <em>upload<\/em> the songs (files) ahead of time and on every Friday (new music day for the last few years) music\/albums appear or are released electronically, but it never <em>drops<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I discovered this piece of trivia via NPR but they unfairly framed is as the debut of Freddie Mercury&#8217;s voice.
